This Day of the Girl, we want you to run a town hall event in your community!
A famous saying declares that “all politics is local,” and at Day of the Girl-US we know that to be true. What we also know to be true is that while all politics impact girls, but girls are not brought to the table by those in charge.
This Day of the Girl, we are bringing ourselves to the table, whether our government officials like it or not.
On (or around) October 11th, we want to have town hall-style events across the country led and organized by local girls. These events will be about the issues impacting girls in these communities and the ways that we can make change now.
It is a scary time to be a girl in the United States. The current administration has made it clear that we are not valuable to them, but we know that we have more value than they could ever understand. We will raise our voices together so loudly that they won’t be able to turn away. This year, the #GirlsResist.
