Day Of The Girl Buffalo

On Saturday, October 17, 2015 Teen small business Zandra by Azariah's Innocence, LLC will present a Day of the Girl Buffalo Expo in Buffalo, NY at University At Buffalo- Harriman Hall from 10am - 4pm.  In celebration, this annual one-day event will be the ultimate GIRL POWER day! This would be a chance for girls and parents to join forces with other organizations committed to girl and women issues to create change here in the city of Buffalo.

The United Nations declared October 11 as the International Day of the Girl Child in 2011. Mayor Byron Brown also declared it Day of the Girl-Buffalo by way of Azariah's Innocence, LLC in October of 2013

The Day of the Girl is a response to an urgent problem facing our world today:

The neglect and devaluation of girls around the world. In October of every year, we see dynamic groups across the world (led by girls, of course) acting to highlight, discuss, celebrate and ultimately advance girls’ lives and opportunities across the globe. When girls come together to talk about what really matters to us, we can teach ourselves and other people–adults, boys, and other girls all across the world–new ways of thinking about gender issues, which will help us take action to change the status quo.

The best part of the day is that any funds raised beyond expenses will go to support a local Buffalo Non Profit, Girls Education Collaborative. Learn more about the amazing work they are doing both in Buffalo and beyond at

There will be informational booths and representatives from Girl Scout of Western New York, Girl Develop It, Empower Girls Buffalo, Buffalo Lab, The Foundry Buffalo, King Center Charter School, UNYTS.  Cultural dance, STEM workshops, etiquette training, photography and modeling.  Age appropriate Hair & Make Up demonstrations by Leon Studio One. With a special appearance from the Young Miss Buffalo Queen. Plus, an all teen business line up.

Sponsors include: CAO-Community Action Organization of Erie County, Girl Scouts of WNY, Erie County Chiropractic, ECMC Lifeline Foundation & Pastoral Care Dept., WNY Imaging, Code Blu Juice Bar, Living Well with DeChantell, Amherst Medical Associates, WNY Naturals, Empower Girls Buffalo, Katapult Designs, Inkologist Printing, Upstate New York Transplant Services, King Center Charter School and Mobile Soles.

Admission is FREE. Includes workshops and demonstrations, lunch, (tote bag and official event t- shirt for the first 100 girls).
